Classes Built Around You

Pilates Classes That Meet You Where You Are

Every person who walks into Art of Pilates is at a different place in their fitness journey. Some have never touched a reformer. Some have been practicing for a decade. Our class structure is designed so you always have a place that fits.

We run classes 7 days a week across all three Long Island studios. Every class is 50 minutes on the STOTT V2 Max Reformer with no more than 10 people in the room. Your instructor has completed 600+ hours of training and will know your name, your level, and exactly when you are ready to move up.

Our Class Levels

Find the Right Class for You

You start at orientation and work your way up. Every level builds on the one before it, and your instructor approves you to progress when your body and your form are ready.

New Clients

Orientation

Your first class at Art of Pilates. A 50-minute workout that teaches you the reformer, the springs, the straps, and our approach. Required for everyone, even if you have done Pilates before. $31 per class.

Foundation

Level 1

Core stabilization, strength, flexibility, balance, and alignment. Low impact but challenging. Incorporates mindfulness and breathwork. Instructor approval required for Level 2.

Intermediate

Level 2

Builds on Level 1 with unilateral work, standing exercises on the reformer, larger ranges of motion, and more complex movement patterns. Faster paced and more intense.

Advanced

Level 3

Teacher-approved. Whole body movement through stability and mobility training, functional patterns, challenging resistance, and complex coordination. You must master Level 2 before joining this class.

Specialty

Tower Class

Combines mat work with tower springs for added challenge. Open to all levels. A different feel from the reformer that targets your body in new ways.

Specialty

Cardio Jumpboard

A higher-energy class using the jumpboard attachment on the reformer. Gets your heart rate up while still working through controlled Pilates movements. A full body burn in 50 minutes.

Your First Visit

What to Expect in a Pilates Class

You walk in, the front desk greets you by name (or learns it on the spot if it is your first time), and you head to your reformer. The instructor sets the tone for the room. Music plays. Springs click. And for the next 50 minutes, you are moving, breathing, and working muscles you did not know you had.

Your instructor watches your form the entire class. If your hips are off, they fix it. If your shoulders are creeping up, they tell you. That kind of attention is what separates a class here from a class at a studio with 18 or 20 machines in the room.

Grip socks are required for every class and are available at the front desk. Please cancel at least 12 hours in advance to keep your class credit. Classes sometimes fill up and have waitlists, so booking early is always a good idea.

Who Takes Our Classes

Pilates Classes for Real People

Our clients are not fitness models or professional athletes. They are real people with real lives who want a workout that works for their body, their schedule, and their goals.

Women Looking for Something That Works
Many of our clients have tried spin, yoga, HIIT, and gym workouts. They come to Pilates because they want real results without the joint pain, the burnout, or the feeling of being lost in a crowd.
Clients Dealing with Pain or Injury
The reformer is one of the safest ways to build strength while protecting your joints. Many clients come to us through referrals from physical therapists for back pain, arthritis, and post-surgical recovery.
People Who Want a Community
A lot of our long-term clients stay because of the people. The friendships, the instructors who remember your name, the front desk staff who ask how your week is going. This is a studio where you belong.
Complete Beginners
If you have never done Pilates, you are not behind. Our beginner program starts with orientation and walks you through everything at your own pace. No experience required.

Try a Private Session

If group classes are not your thing, or if you want focused work on a specific area of your body, private Pilates sessions give you 50 minutes of dedicated instructor time. Your instructor builds the session around your goals, your body, and whatever you need that day. Singles start at $120 and packages bring the cost down. Call any studio to schedule.

Common Questions

Pilates Classes FAQ

What types of Pilates classes does Art of Pilates offer?
We offer reformer-based Pilates classes at four levels: Orientation for new clients, Level 1 for foundations, Level 2 for intermediate, and Level 3 for advanced. We also run specialty classes including Tower, Cardio Jumpboard, Stretch and Restore, All Level, and Teen classes depending on the studio and schedule.
How do I know which Pilates class level is right for me?
Every new client starts with the Orientation class regardless of prior experience. After orientation, you move into Level 1. Your instructor will let you know when you are ready for Level 2, and the same applies for Level 3. No guessing and no pressure to move faster than your body is ready for.
How many people are in each Pilates class?
Every Art of Pilates studio has only 9 reformers and classes are capped at 10 people. This gives your instructor the ability to see everyone in the room, correct form in real time, and give personal attention that larger studios cannot match.
Can I take Pilates classes at any Art of Pilates location?
Yes. All class packages and monthly memberships work at any of the three studios in Huntington, Greenvale, and Commack. You can take a class at one studio on Monday and a different studio on Thursday with no extra fees.
What should I bring to my first Pilates class?
Wear comfortable workout clothes that allow you to move freely. Grip socks are required for every class and are available for purchase at the front desk if you do not have a pair. Arrive a few minutes early so the front desk team can get you set up before class starts.
