For Those Who Put in the Work

Advanced Pilates Classes

Level 3 reformer work. Whole body movement, complex coordination, and challenging resistance. Teacher approved. You have earned this.

The Highest Level We Offer

Level 3 Is for Clients Who Have Done the Work

Level 3 is not a class you sign up for because you feel ready. It is a class your instructor approves you for because they have watched your body master Level 2 exercises with consistently clean form, strong core engagement, and confident control on the reformer.

This class is faster, harder, and more demanding than anything else on our schedule. The exercises incorporate whole body movement that requires your arms, legs, and core to work together through complex sequences. The spring resistance is higher. The balance challenges are real. And the pace does not slow down.

Not every client pursues Level 3, and that is perfectly fine. Many people find their long-term home at Level 2. But for clients who want to push their body to its potential on the reformer, this is where that happens.

What Makes Level 3 Different

The Most Challenging Class on Our Schedule

Level 3 takes everything from Level 2 and adds layers of complexity, speed, and physical demand.

Whole Body Movement Patterns
Level 3 exercises coordinate your entire body through integrated movement sequences. Your arms, legs, and core move simultaneously in patterns that train stability, mobility, and power together. Nothing works in isolation.
Functional Movement Training
The exercises in Level 3 mirror real-world movement patterns. Pushing, pulling, rotating, and stabilizing under load. The strength you build here translates directly into how your body performs in sports, daily activities, and everything else you do off the reformer.
Complex Coordination
Your body has to manage multiple things at once: spring resistance, carriage movement, body position, and breath. The exercises demand a level of mind-body coordination that only comes from years of practice. Your brain works as hard as your body.
Challenging Load and Resistance
Spring settings are higher and exercises use your body weight more aggressively. The sculpting and strength-building effect is at its peak in Level 3 because your muscles are working against maximum resistance through full ranges of motion.
Faster Pace, No Breaks
Transitions happen quickly. You move from exercise to exercise with minimal rest. The 50 minutes go fast because your body is working continuously. The cardiovascular demand is higher than any other class on our schedule.
No Modifications for Medical Conditions
Level 3 is designed for clients without injuries or medical conditions that require exercise modifications. If you are managing back pain or arthritis, Level 1 and Level 2 classes with modifications are a better fit.

The Approval Process

How You Get to Level 3

There is no application or test. Your Level 2 instructor has been watching your progress for weeks or months. When they see that your form stays clean under complexity, your core stays engaged at higher resistance, and your body moves with confidence through Level 2 exercises, they will bring it up.

If you feel ready and your instructor has not mentioned Level 3, ask them. They will tell you exactly what needs to improve. It might be your hip stability during standing work, or your core control during fast transitions, or your shoulder engagement during arm series. That specificity is what 600+ hours of instructor training gives you.

Adding a private session or two focused on your weak areas can speed up the approval process if you are close but not quite there.

The Level 3 Community

A Room Full of People Who Put in the Work

There is something different about a Level 3 class. Everyone in the room has been through orientation, built their foundation in Level 1, progressed through Level 2, and earned their spot. The energy is focused. The effort is high. And the sense of accomplishment after 50 minutes is real.

Many of our Level 3 clients have been coming to Art of Pilates for years. They know each other, they push each other, and they have a relationship with their instructor that goes beyond basic cueing. The small class sizes make that possible. In a room of 9 or 10 people who have all earned this level, the dynamic is special.

Common Questions

Advanced Pilates Classes FAQ

What is a Level 3 Pilates class?
Level 3 is the most challenging class at Art of Pilates. It is a faster-paced, full body workout incorporating whole body movement, functional patterns, complex coordination, and challenging spring resistance. Every exercise builds on Level 2 foundations. Instructor approval is required.
How do I get approved for Level 3?
Your Level 2 instructor approves you when they see consistently clean form, strong core engagement, and confident movement through intermediate exercises. No injuries or medical conditions that require modifications should be present. Ask your instructor if you feel ready and they will give you honest feedback.
How is Level 3 different from Level 2?
Level 3 adds whole body movement patterns where arms, legs, and core work simultaneously. The pace is faster, spring resistance is higher, balance challenges are more demanding, and exercises require precise control through complex sequences. The cardiovascular demand is also higher.
Can I still take Level 2 classes if I am approved for Level 3?
Yes. Many Level 3 clients mix Level 2 and Level 3 in their weekly schedule. A balanced schedule keeps your form sharp and gives your body recovery between advanced sessions.
How many people are in a Level 3 class?
Level 3 follows the same small group format as all classes. Every studio has 9 reformers and classes are capped at 10 people. Your instructor gives the same personal attention and real-time corrections at Level 3 as at every other level.
